Flight Partners: Regarding Japanese Visas
A Note to Readers Regarding Visas in Japan
Japan doesn’t oversee its visas very stringently once someone is in the country. The chances of someone being caught working illegally are almost zero. Most deportations result directly from people turning themselves in for a free flight home[1]. I have seen English teachers do what Kenneth did several times during my own stay in Japan—I was even asked to do it myself, though I declined. None of the individuals I knew were caught, or even questioned.
